Adam Herrera grew up on a small farm along the banks of the Grand River in Grand Ledge, Mich. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography and Journalism from Northern Michigan University and a Bachelor's degree from Brooks Institute in Digital Media.


He is the Digital Media Editor at the University of Wyoming Foundation, and his specialties lie in marketing and communications, visual journalism, multi-media production, and documentary story-telling.

Apart from his full-time position with the University of Wyoming, Herrera also serves as Producer for the Following the Manito Trail
documentary project, his third career documentary (Svara, 2009; Revelar los Enlaces, 2010). In 2016, he was awarded three scholarship grants for research on this subject.

Herrera has also won numerous awards in the field of journalism from the National Newspaper Association (NNA) and Wyoming Press Association (WPA), including NNA Best Photo Feature Series, 2014; NNA General Excellence, 2013; and WPA Photo of the Year, 2011. His work has also been featured by the Associated Press in several national media publications.
